I’m a semi-finalist (along with about 1,000 other people) in a travel writing contest (a screenshot of my entry is pictured above). If I win the grand prize, I get $10,000 and a writing gig. The assignment? Writing 30 stories about the five boroughs of New York. I love the idea of getting to know my new city through writing, and being paid so handsomely to do it – well, that sounds pretty great, too.
