A layoff can be a blessing in disguise, triggering life changes that ultimately make you a happier person. This is the message of a new film, Lemonade – at least, that’s the message that the trailer, below, seems to convey. Of course, in the film, the people getting laid off all worked in advertising, not coal mining, so unemployment does not seem to plunge them into economic despair, as it does so many Americans. If you can put aside any envy or resentment you might feel at their apparent economic advantage, I do think the trailer tells a lovely story about seizing opportunities for change. In other words, when life gives you lemons… maybe it’s finally time to pursue your dreams:
(Hat tip to my virtual buddy, Alison – I found this trailer on her blog.)
Side note: I think a lot of people who go into advertising are natural storytellers; I wish more of them would use their storytelling powers for social good.
