I hope to have a video of my Ignite DC presentation any day now, but for now, here’s the presentation itself. Note, the best way for me to share it online was to post it to a site called Slideshare.net, which unfortunately doesn’t yet support animation — so you won’t see the delightfully cheesy animation embedded in each slide. But something’s better than nothing, so here you go:
I was absolutely thrilled by the response I got on Thursday – here are some excerpts from Twitter:
ignitedc What do you call a dog detective? Sherlock BONES. She is killing! And she loves dogs. Pie graph of her dogs lifespans!
sheffi #ignitedc @creativedc is adorably befuddled by her own slide deck. I have no idea if this is intentional, or if she’s a wonderful actress.
bradbaumn @creativedc is genius #ignitedc
nerdette I feel like we’re being punked slash this is really a talk on how NOT to do powerpt presentations #igniteDC genius
nerdette Omg this is a brilliant lampooning @creativedc #igniteDC
DCBadger @creativedc is telling a great story about her dog and is absolutely hilarious. I am crying #ignitedc
aishajcreative #ignitedc = coolest thing ever! @creativedc was hilarious
Some of these comments will make more sense once you see the video – I pretended to be VERY nervous and awkward, and at first, people weren’t sure if it was an act. It was a risk, because I really played it straight, versus “winking” at the audience that this was just an act; there was a chance people wouldn’t “get it.” But I gave it a shot, and it seems to have worked, and let me just tell you, I was flying high….

Core Competencies? Now I’m really sorry I missed this.
ME FOUR!!!
Aw, thanks guys! I do hope to have a video to share soon…
Several points:
1) This is a riot! The pie chart is my favorite.
2) Another nickname is Mo
3) No need to take him to Mom and Dad’s again, as he does not like to stay places where he cannot get on the furniture. Why torture him?
4) Another plus: good guest
5) Another minus: does not like his grandparents’ dog
