Welcome to the new Creative DC website.

A few highlights:

The Gallery: A photo slideshow of DC, and a tribute to the creativity of the people who take these pictures – just another example of the under-celebrated creativity of DC residents. All photos come from Flickr, the photo-sharing website. Moving forward, please either email me or tag your photo creativedc on Flickr if you’d like me to consider featuring it in the gallery.

Email Updates:  If “RSS” is Greek to you, you can now sign up to receive Creative DC by email. (Clicking the link will open a new window titled “FeedBurner Email Subscription” – FeedBurner is the service I’m using to power these updates.)

Search and Browse by Keyword: Take a gander at the sidebar on the right. Near the top, you’ll see a Search box, and towards the bottom, you’ll see a feature called Browse by Keyword (this is also known as a “tag cloud”). I hope you’ll take advantage of these features – and the “tags” (keywords) that now appear at the bottom of each post – to dig deeper into Creative DC. For example, if you like one of the quotes I share about art and creativity – you can easily see other quotes I’ve posted.

Finally, some info for the geeks: this site is now powered by Wordpress, and features the Thesis theme – as well as quite a bit of custom programming by my husband and “CTO,” Jordan.

Enjoy! And please post any feedback or suggestions for other features you’d like to see me roll out in the coming weeks/months.

(Also: I’m looking for a designer to help me revamp the site’s look. If you or someone you know is interested – please email me at amanda [at] creativedc dot org.)
