So I’ll confess, I hesitated to share this announcement, but ultimately, my magnanimous nature won out, and sent the petty competitive part of me to pout it out in the next room.
So without further ado: Hear ye, hear ye, the 48 Hour Film Festival returneth to DC. From the announcement email:
The 48 Hour Film Project returns to where it all began—the nation’s capital!
For those of you who don’t yet know, the 48HFP, the largest filmmaking contest in the world, brings filmmaking teams together to make a movie from scratch — teams write, shoot, edit and score a short film —
all in just 48 hours. This year the 48HFP will visit more than 70 cities around the world.
Enter today! Space is limited. Each completed film is guaranteed a screening on the big-screen in front of a full audience. We return to the beautiful AFI Silver Theater for screenings on May 5-8!
To be part of the 48HFP, you must register online at:
I’ve taken part in this for the past 2 years, and had a blast each time – I particularly enjoyed making The Dinner Party with my improv peeps, JINX, in last year’s competition. We’re entering again this year, and are looking for folks with editing and shooting chops to join our team…give me a holler if you’re interested.
To all who enter: have fun, and see you at the AFI in May!
