No more excuses — it’s time to make some music.
They say creativity flourishes under constraints, so try this on for size: the RPM Challenge, an invitation to “record an album in 28 days, just because you can.”
Oddly, a different organization – called, appropriately enough, February Album Writing Month, or FAWM- is issuing an almost identical challenge: 14 songs in 28 days. (FAWM was the challenge that spawned Of Great and Mortal Men, a project I mentioned last month. My friend John says they have a stronger community than RPM, if you’re looking for support.)
NPR thinks it’s a good idea. What more could you need to know?
Let me know how it goes…
— Jack London, as quoted on the FAWM website

i only make up songs with live accompaniment, so i’m out on this one. ;) however, this sounds like it would be a mucho fun challenge for genuine musicians.
