Other “do it in a month” creative challenges that you, dear readers, have told me about since Tuesday’s post:
- Script Frenzy (April) – 30 days. 100 pages. (Thanks Letty!)
- National Novel Writing Month (November) – Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30. (Hat tip: Ana.)
Are there others? Any DC-specific challenges? Let me know!
(And, if you missed it: February is Make An Album Month.)

What a delightful find…your blog! For some obscure reason I googled 'creativity and the hypnagogic state' and up popped the world of Amanda Hirsh. Now, to a South African/Kenyan like me Adams Morgan wouldn't ring any bells, but for my having wandered around there last September searching for a campgas cyclinder for my impending C&O bike trip. So, armed with tea and Marie biscuits I am now creatively immersed in your bloggity world of many delights! budgie.co.nr (Andre Smith)
Andre, thanks for the kind words. I hope you found the Creative DC post that references the hypnagogic state, which my friend/guest blogger Kate Barrett wrote last summer:
